My Full-Service Workshop
For me. life is about always learning and building new skills. My workshop is a reflection of that. It's also why the shop has grown and diversified through the years.
In the beginning it was a gun shop, fully equipped with a plethora of hand tools as well as a milling machine and metal lathe. With these machines I can customize any job and even build firearms from the ground up.
But, of course, I wanted to do more. And that meant more tools. First I added the woodworking tools and jigs to carve stocks, grips and knife scales (wood, horn or bone). These tools also opened up the field of archery, and I started making custom bows and arrows.
When you look closely at the photos below, you'll notice that I don't always buy my equipment. Sometimes I make it...that way it's custom fit to my needs and specifications. (It's also fun to do.)
Next I asked the question, what's a firearm or knife without some way to carry it? I answered that question by branching into leather work. Today, my shop has a heavy-duty sewing machine and all the carving tools for crafting holsters, knife sheaths, belts, rifle scabbards and more. I haven't made a saddle yet, but it's on my bucket list.
Most recently, I've added foundry work to my repertoire. Now, if I can't find an old or discontinued part, I can cast or hammer out a new one. I have both a coal and gas furnace, and the latest addition is a homemade furnace for smelting steel. So welcome to my full-service workshop.
