Hunt Like a Girl

Listen — I generally refrain from posting videos of hunting exploits. Let’s be perfectly honest here. Most modern humans are too soft these days to do what needs to be done to put food on the table. In an age of modern conveniences a lot of folks are convinced meat comes to the grocery stores wrapped in cellophane on a cold white slab of styrofoam. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Whether you want to admit it or not, human beings are the top predator species on this planet. And that simply put in basic terms means that proteins are the building blocks of life and there’s one good source of that vital ingredient — other animals. Yes, there’s proteins in vegetable matter…. And for a short while I was strictly vegetarian myself due to health reasons. I had consumed far too much processed foods and suffered the consequences. But after a while I went back to my roots and started eating much healthier myself. No more processed junk and chemical laden garbage. I enjoy a healthy mixture of vegetables and meat these days.

Instead of partaking in the feedlot cattle pumped full of antibiotics and growth hormones, I choose to eat my protein as God intended it to be. I ethically harvest wild game, and comply with the laws of fair chase and everything this entails. I will warn you however — this video is fairly graphic in nature. It’s not meant to be watched by the faint of heart or those sensitive to the way nature works. So be forewarned. This is an older video of a bear hunt where I took a young lady from Texas who had moved to Maine and had decided she wanted to try bear hunting herself. After she made her kill with ammunition I had made for her… well I wasn’t about to leave her hanging around trying to figure out what to do with the critter next. So I taught her how to process the animal for meat for the table. She was a trooper, and wasn’t afraid to get her hands dirty.
