Introduction to lighting a campfire with a flint and steel, instead of using a ferrocerium rod. This is a traditional method I often rely on, because I'm a flintlock muzzle loading hunter. The flint and steel has been around hundreds of years before ferrocerium rods were developed, and this is why I chose this method.

To start creating a tinder box of your own, you can purchase the Hudson Bay TDC tobacco box I mentioned from Amazon. Amazon also has many flint and steel options.
