In this short video, I’m demonstrating the Lichtenberg burning process on a piece of broken gun stock for practice. By wiring a transformer for a neon sign to a foot pedal switch and a pair of jumper cables with copper leads, I can produce beautiful patterns in the gunstock wood with 15,000 volts of electricity.

This is a very dangerous technique as you can easily be electrocuted if you are not being careful. I make an electrolyte to help control the flow of electrical current somewhat. The result is the appearance of the gunstock being struck by lightning.
